Denver Human Services (DHS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Lead Social Case Worker for the Intake section within Child Welfare Services. The Intake team is primarily responsible for investigating new allegations of abuse/neglect of children ages 0-18 in a fast-paced and demanding environment. The role involves contacting families, conducting interviews on behalf of the child, and maintaining professional contacts with community leaders and law enforcement representatives. As a Lead Social Case Worker, you will be a lead on a team of Social Case Workers, actively participating in leadership, supervision, and development. This role requires a strong team player with good decision-making skills and the ability to effectively handle conflicts. The Lead Social Case Worker will create and implement training and development plans, establish systems for managing high-volume workloads, obtain and maintain supervisory certification, and train Social Case Worker staff. The position also involves demonstrating critical decision-making skills with staff and the section, performing supervisory roles in the absence of supervisors, demonstrating competencies in intake assessments, ongoing cases, and youth cases, leading by example, and attending family team meetings and court hearings with Social Case Workers when needed.
