About The Position

The Lead Instrumentation & Controls Engineer will work in Sargent & Lundy’s Nuclear Power Group on major process-controls engineering projects, including digital upgrades to existing power plants and new nuclear power plants and small modular reactors. The role involves directing technical decisions within project teams designing, modifying, and analyzing power-plant control systems, and addressing instrumentation and controls engineering challenges. The engineer will contribute to digital systems design and development, including PLC, DCS, HSI, networked computer systems, and digital instrumentation and control system functional requirements. Work may also include digital IoT, innovation, and first-of-a-kind nuclear projects, along with support for station outages as required. The role includes coordinating system design to meet specifications, codes, and client requirements; developing and reviewing calculations and technical documentation; working with vendors on equipment specifications; conducting independent reviews; and engaging with clients through meetings and site walkdowns. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program and at least 10 years of relevant instrumentation and controls engineering design experience. U.S. work authorization sponsorship is not available for this position.
