About The Position
The Goddard School of South Loop is looking for a dependable, nurturing and energetic Lead Infant Toddler Teacher Part Time to support our classrooms throughout the school day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young children and likes the variety of supporting different classrooms and age groups. The position is part-time, with a schedule of Monday to Friday from 8 AM to 1 PM and 2 PM to 6 PM. The work location is in person.
Requirements
- Warm, patient and genuinely enjoys working with children and can engage with children in absence of homeroom teacher
- Reliable and punctual
- Flexible and comfortable working in different classrooms
- Engaged and willing to jump in wherever support is needed
- Professional and respectful in communication
- A strong team player
- Receptive to feedback and interested in learning
- Able to meet Illinois DCFS requirements for an early childhood classroom
- Must be vaccinated
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a safe, healthy and nurturing learning environment
- Develop an appropriate classroom management system to support the goals and developmental level of the children in the classroom
- Ensure that children are always within state ratio requirements
- Perform cleaning responsibilities (e.g., spills) immediately
- Advance children’s physical and intellectual competence
- Adapt program to meet the individual needs of each child
- Create a multi-cultural learning environment
- Provide a variety of developmentally appropriate activities to engage children in learning
- Respect cultural and ethnic diversity
- Communicate, in a professional manner, with families and faculty
- Encourage families to become an integral part of their children’s learning experiences
- Maintain a portfolio for each child
- Maintain the classroom Parent Board
- Perform child observations and document in their portfolios, Use assessment tools (e.g., Progress Reports, Children’s Progress)
- Attend faculty meetings, in-service days, conferences and professional growth opportunities.
