Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed childcare setting
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) for children ages 0-3
  • Current or ability to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
  • Strong communication, organizational, and classroom management skills
  • Warm, patient, and nurturing demeanor with a genuine passion for early childhood education
  • Ability to meet state licensing requirements for lead teacher qualifications in New York

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants and toddlers in alignment with Goddard School standards
  • Create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating classroom environment that supports early childhood development
  • Monitor and document each child's developmental milestones and communicate progress to families
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with children, parents, and caregivers through consistent and open communication
  • Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and classroom aides
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom in compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development
