About The Position

The Lead Industrial Electrician is responsible for supporting the reliability and performance of all sawmill electrical systems while providing day-to-day leadership, guidance, and technical expertise to the electrical team. This role ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with production goals.

Requirements

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead by example and support team development.
  • Proficient in industrial electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience with PLC systems and industrial automation components.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Electrical experience in a manufacturing or sawmill environment preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a lead or senior-level electrical role preferred.
  • Willingness to work in outdoor environments and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work scheduled shifts, including overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support electrical maintenance activities, ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.
  • Install, maintain, and repair the sawmill electrical systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and repair of electrical equipment, minimizing downtime and production impact.
  • Assist in prioritizing and coordinating daily work assignments and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure completion of work orders in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform and support preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems ranging from 24V DC to 480V 3-phase.
  • Diagnose and repair motor starter circuits, control circuits, and emergency stop (E-stop) systems.
  • Support and guide team members in troubleshooting PLC-controlled systems, including sensors, photo eyes, proximity switches, and limit switches.
  • Program, commission, and troubleshoot Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs).
  • Promote and enforce safe work practices, including strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in system reliability, safety, and efficiency.
