About The Position

The City of Wentzville is seeking a Lead Ice Arena Attendant. This role involves coordinating the activities of assigned workers, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of services. Responsibilities include providing skilled customer and custodial services, operational support, and general maintenance for the facility. The position requires a proactive approach to performing routine duties and daily tasks thoroughly and promptly while maintaining effective working relationships with supervisors, co-workers, and the general public. This is a part-time position not to exceed an average of 29 hours per week.

Requirements

  • A minimum of one year of prior relevant experience is required.
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certifications are required within 90 days of hire.
  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Must be a proficient ice skater.
  • Must be highly motivated and able to assume a positive and active role in the facility, even while working under potentially stressful conditions (cold weather, upset or injured participants, etc.).
  • Must have the ability to be firm with participants when necessary, enforce rules, and make sound decisions in order to secure the safety and well-being of all park visitors, facilities, and equipment.
  • Ability to provide exceptional service to internal and external customers.
  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with supervisors, co-workers, and customers by telephone, in writing, and in person.
  • Ability to use good judgment and think rationally in difficult or stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work, as well as concentrate on multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic business software (word processing, spreadsheets, email, presentations) and basic office equipment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize routine and robust tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently under moderate supervision and make responsible decisions.
  • Ability to work under established processes and solve problems within defined parameters.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential job duty. Job requires being reliable, responsible and dependable.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned.
  • Ability to work irregular hours and assume added responsibilities as needed.
