About The Position
Vail Health has become the world’s most advanced mountain healthcare system. Vail Health consists of an updated 520,000-square-foot, 56-bed hospital. This state-of-the-art facility provides exceptional care to all of our patients, with the most beautiful views in the area, located centrally in Vail. The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for leading, inspecting, and working with a cleaning crew to provide a safe, clean environment for patients. This role ensures Vail Health facilities are clean, sanitary, and well-maintained in accordance with federal, state, and local health codes and regulations.
Requirements
- 2 years of previous cleaning-based experience is required.
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English.

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead cleaning crew in daily operations, including inspecting quality of Housekeeping staff work to ensure quality levels are met.
- Responsible for the appearance and cleaning of the hospital interior.
- Assist staff with cleaning and servicing units, walls, rooms, baths, lavatories, and offices of Vail Health facilities.
- Demonstrate use of cleaning materials and equipment; explain methods of cleaning to ensure the most efficient and economical use of materials and manpower.
- Responsible for the use, care, organization, and maintenance of housekeeping equipment and supplies.
- Inspect housekeeping equipment for proper functioning, making minor repairs or adjustments as needed, and placing supply orders.
- Take note of needed facility repairs, compile staff repair reports, and submit work requests.
- Complete daily checklist and turn it in to the Housekeeping office.
- Attend in-service trainings and meetings, and team with hospital staff for safe and efficient cleaning of Vail Health facilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
