About The Position

Friendship is looking for a Lead Housekeeper to join their Friendship Assisted Living team in Roanoke, VA. This role is responsible for ensuring all assigned tasks are completed during the appropriate shift and by the assigned staff. The Lead Housekeeper will act as the primary contact for questions or issues related to task assignments and will escalate to the Manager of Housekeeping when necessary. Shifts are available Monday through Friday, first shift, with one weekend per month required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Knowledge and understanding of SDS manuals, infectious/biohazard waste and environmental protocols
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day.
• The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds

Nice To Haves

• Housekeeping experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains utility and storage rooms to ensure they are clean and organized
• Wash beds, mattresses, and make unoccupied beds
• Clean medical equipment to include wheelchairs and stretchers
• Clean dayrooms; replace table linens and clean the floor after each meal
• Remove soiled linens and replace with clean; provide extra linens as requested
• Prepare hampers daily for use with soiled linens and incontinent products
• Prepare resident clothing for laundry pick up; after cleaning, place clothes back in the residents closet
• Attend all required in-service training
• Ensures trash is emptied twice on first and second shifts
• Assist residents with extra bed linens as requested
• Clean shower rooms at the end of shift
• Replace drapes and cubicle curtains as needed
• Transfer clean linens to units
• Oversee daily assignments and other supervisor responsibilities if the supervisor is absent
