About The Position

Monmouth Crossing, an award-winning assisted living facility that is part of the CentraState Healthcare System, is seeking a Lead Housekeeper. This role assists the Manager in planning and directing the day-to-day operations of the Housekeeping Department. The Lead Housekeeper is responsible for training Environmental Services staff in their duties, responsibilities, and proper cleaning techniques. This position supports the department in achieving its service goals and objectives and performs general cleaning and laundry duties as needed. CentraState Healthcare System, in partnership with Atlantic Health System, is a fully accredited, not-for-profit, community-based health system dedicated to providing comprehensive health services in central New Jersey. It focuses on disease prevention, promoting healthy behaviors, and helping individuals of all ages live well. Requirements

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in healthcare facility required.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of cleaning and floor techniques, all housekeeping equipment and cleaners, and infection control and waste disposal procedures.
  • Strong professional, organizational, and interpersonal skills to effectively relate with all members of the healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in the department's Quality Assurance program.
  • Assists with the day to day operation of the assigned area in a manner consistent with departmental goals and objectiives.
  • Provides follow up of staff work assignments.
  • Prepares the department schedule. Posts schedule on a timely basis ensuring adequate coverage at all times. Adjusts schedule as necessary for emergencies.
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of department budget.
  • Does inventory and orders department supplies as necessary. Maintains an adequate level of supplies to deliver quality patient care and customer service.
  • Effectively performs a variety of housekeeping functions including mopping, dusting, sanitizing, wiping, scrubbing, buffing, and other manual jobs on floors, walls, beds, furniture, fixtures etc.
  • Performs patient/resident room cleaning and discharge cleaning.
  • Operates floor-cleaning machinery to maintain hard flooring and carpets.
  • Collects and disposes of regular and medical wastes at loading dock.
  • Disinfects and sanitizes all counter tops, washers, dryers, and other furniture following established departmental procedures and meeting quality standards.
