Requirements

• Associate Degree in Laboratory Science and successful completion of a NAACLS approved Histotechnician Program or Histology Laboratory training that meets ASCP eligibility requirements for certification
• Must meet CLIA requirements for high complexity testing
• 5 years experience in Histology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and oversight of histology laboratory operations to ensure the accurate and timely processing of surgical specimens while preserving tissue morphology and cellular structure.
• Oversees the preparation of high-quality tissue sections for microscopic evaluation.
• Performs routine and specialized histology procedures including special stains and immunohistochemistry.
• Helps ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and hospital standards.
• Supports quality assurance activities.
• Maintains required documentation.
• May serve as the manager’s designee in their absence.
