About The Position

A2e Technologies is seeking a Lead Hardware Engineer for a long-term contract or permanent position. The role involves designing high-speed digital boards with frequencies over 1GHz, incorporating technologies such as DDR, FPGAs, and networking. The engineer will be responsible for schematic capture, EMC mitigation, and signal integrity simulations. Experience with power integrity simulations and FPGA design is a plus. The position requires hands-on experience with bringing up circuit boards, using technical equipment like power supplies, function generators, DMMs, and oscilloscopes, working in a professional laboratory setting, and executing tests including generation, execution, and reporting. Strong debugging and problem-solving skills are essential, along with knowledge of verification methodologies and standards relevant to the space industry.

Requirements

  • Experience designing high-speed digital boards (>1GHz signals) with DDR, FPGAs, Networking, etc.
  • Experience with Altium schematic capture
  • Experience with EMC mitigation techniques and testing
  • Signal Integrity simulation experience
  • Experience bringing up circuit boards
  • Experience with technical equipment such as power supplies, function generators, DMMs, Oscilloscopes with specialized probes
  • Experience working in a professional laboratory setting
  • Experience with test execution, including test case generation, execution, and reporting
  • Debugging and problem-solving skills to identify root causes and provide detailed analysis
  • Knowledge of verification methodologies and standards relevant to the space industry
  • Verilog / VHDL/SystemVerilog/Vitis, Versal
  • Experience with latest versions of some Xilinx / Altera devices such as: Kintex, Artix, Zynq, Cyclone V, Cyclone V SoC, Stratix, Arria
  • Experience with Vivado and/or latest version of Quartus
  • Schematic Capture with OrCAD, DxDesigner, or Altium

Nice To Haves

  • Power Integrity simulation experience
  • Some experience with FPGA design and toolsets
  • Use of signal integrity tools such as HyperLynx

Responsibilities
