About The Position

A Lead Hand is responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in managing all aspects of the department including safe work, coaching and developing staff, quality work, leading department meetings, monitoring production activity, continuous improvement, and innovation.

2-3 years manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

Promoting safety within the department, aiming for a zero-injury culture.
Monitoring performance to identify training gaps, providing training, maintaining, and requesting updates to CTR’s.
Training staff on quality standards/expected behaviours and ensuring they are met.
Involving staff in department matters.
Taking action to optimize sequencing and product flow, ensuring buffer holes are filled, and working with the team to achieve production targets.
Active participation in and coaching employees for continuous improvement.
Bringing value through new, creative ideas.
