About The Position

A Lead Hand is responsible for supporting the Production Supervisor in managing all aspects of the department.

• Team builder: build a dynamic team where employees work together and achieve department goals.
• 3-5 years manufacturing experience.

• Finishing experience would be an asset.
• Leadership experience would be an asset.

Responsibilities

• Promoting safety within the department, aiming for a zero-injury culture.
• Monitoring performance to identify training gaps, providing training, maintaining, and requesting updates to CTR’s.
• Training staff on quality standards/expected behaviours and ensuring they are met.
• Involving staff in department matters.
• Taking action to optimize sequencing and product flow, ensuring buffer holes are filled, and working with the team to achieve production targets.
• Active participation in and coaching employees for continuous improvement.
• Bringing value through new, creative ideas.
