About The Position

The purpose of this job is to process merchandise and fuel transactions. This role involves leading a shift of one-to-two cashiers, completing end-of-shift reports, and ensuring compliance with company and local guidelines for restricted merchandise sales. The Lead Guest Services Team Member is responsible for maintaining a clean work area, using suggestive selling techniques, handling guest complaints, resolving team member conflicts, and determining break schedules. Additionally, this role assists with various travel center functions and models behaviors that support the company's common purpose, ensuring guests and team members are supported at the highest level.

Requirements

  • Process all types of cash, credit, and debit transactions.
  • Ability to follow company and local guidelines with regards to the sale of any restricted merchandise items (i.e., alcohol, tobacco).
  • Ability to maintain an organized and clean work area.
  • Ability to use suggested selling methods to promote and sell products.
  • Ability to ensure quality service is delivered to every guest.
  • Ability to handle guest complaints and issues by following company processes and guidelines.
  • Ability to resolve team member conflict.
  • Ability to communicate issues to management.
  • Ability to determine break schedules and team member placement during shift.
  • Ability to assist with other travel center functions such as maintaining deli, cleaning showers and restrooms, stocking, making coffee, etc.
  • Ability to model behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest level.
  • Ability to ensure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
