About The Position

Red Nucleus is hiring a Lead, Graphic Designer to join our global team. This role will be remote. The Senior Designer is a member of the Creative Services team responsible for producing creative concepts, pitches, presentation materials, and other visual collateral to support our team. Under the guidance of the Art Director, this person will ensure that their deliverables meet a high creative standard and are completed on time. This individual will work with team members from across other departments to coordinate the successful execution of digital and print pieces, including PowerPoint decks and poster layouts. The Senior Designer is comfortable working in close-knit and collaborative teams with a wide range of skills and personalities.

Requirements

Graduate of post-secondary institution in a related field (Graphic Design, Interactive/Multimedia Design, New Media, Advertising).
3+ years of relevant experience in a design studio or marketing agency.
Attention to detail and organizational skills with an enthusiasm for pixel-perfect work.
Emerging design experience with a strong portfolio that exhibits conceptual thinking (both visual and interactive), solid typography skills and an understanding of design principles.
Broad knowledge of Adobe CC (specifically Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
Competent in creating scientific slide decks using Microsoft PowerPoint, including templates, graphs, charts and tables.
Knowledge of Figma as a collaborative design and production tool.
Must be able to work cooperatively as a member of a team as well as independently.
Self-motivated, organized, and accountable.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure while meeting tight deadlines.

Nice To Haves

Education in sciences an asset.
Ability to understand scientific or medical content is beneficial.

Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the Art Director, develop smart, strategic, and creative solutions that are on brand.
For digital projects, execute designs and develop interactive elements based on wireframes, copy decks and supplied direction with minimum oversight.
For print projects, develop materials with proper formatting, bleed, and color mode that demonstrate excellent use of space.
Apply and uphold brand identity systems (typography, photography, color) on new and existing projects.
Capable of developing infographics that convey a narrative through text and imagery.
Able to communicate and collaborate internally across multiple teams and disciplines to produce deliverables that meet team needs and expectations.
Take directions and work closely with the Art Director or Creative Director to execute on their vision for a project.
Actively communicate with internal teams regarding the status of their projects or raise any questions that they may have.
Maintain proficiency in all aspects of production to be able to see projects through completion from start to finish.
Identify and suggest solutions for resolving technical and creative issues.
Ensure work always meets deadlines, budget, and quality expectations.
Stay current on interactive, design trends and emerging technologies with a hunger to innovate.
