About The Position

Mutual of America Capital Management is seeking a Lead Fund Administration Analyst to oversee key fund administration functions. This role involves supporting fund accounting, custody operations, investment performance reporting, regulatory reporting, board reporting, and service provider management. The analyst will monitor third-party service providers, evaluate operational controls, ensure regulatory compliance, deliver reports to management and the Board of Trustees, and leverage AI-enabled tools to enhance reporting and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in mutual fund accounting, fund administration, investment operations, custody operations, performance measurement, investment reporting, or regulatory reporting.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Index/Match, data validation, and advanced formulas.
  • Understanding of mutual fund accounting, NAV calculations, fund expenses, financial statements, custody operations, valuation oversight, and investment performance reporting.
  • Experience preparing investment performance reports, management reports, Board materials, and private client reporting packages.
  • Experience working with custodians, fund accountants, transfer agents, pricing vendors, and other fund service providers.
  • Understanding of registered investment companies under the Investment Company Act of 1940 and regulation of advisers under the Advisers Act.
  • Experience preparing materials for Boards, senior management, clients, regulators, or external stakeholders.
  • Experience utilizing AI-enabled tools, data analytics platforms, and automation technologies to improve reporting, analysis, operational efficiency, and decision-making.
  • Confidence presenting information to senior management.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently analyze issues, identify root causes, and develop practical solutions.
  • High attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze mutual fund performance against benchmarks and peers, and support benchmark and peer group performance analysis.
  • Validate performance calculation methodologies and reporting outputs, and coordinate with performance measurement vendors and internal investment teams.
  • Prepare materials for Board and Committee meetings, compiling operational, accounting, performance, compliance, valuation, liquidity, risk, and governance metrics.
  • Coordinate collection of information from internal departments and third-party service providers for Board meetings.
  • Assist with SEC reporting requirements including N-PORT, N-CEN, Form N-CSR, and shareholder reports.
  • Support the review of prospectus, SAI, and shareholder disclosure information, and validate regulatory reporting data.
  • Assist with responses to internal audits, examinations, and regulatory inquiries.
  • Support client, management, and shareholder reporting, preparing and validating investment performance, portfolio, benchmark, and attribution reporting packages.
  • Validate data used in reporting packages and regulatory filings.
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards.
  • Perform reconciliations and data validation across multiple systems.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, risks, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support automation and efficiency initiatives across fund operations processes.
  • Utilize AI-enabled tools and data analytics techniques to validate exceptions and perform root cause analysis.
