About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Lead Full Stack Software Engineer to drive engineering for mission-critical intelligence software supporting an operational Intelligence Community mission. The role sets technical direction for a team building cloud-based SIGINT microservices, owns architecture and the technical roadmap, mentors engineers, and contributes hands-on using Java/Spring Boot, Angular, MongoDB, Docker, Kubernetes, and GitLab CI/CD. The position is onsite for local candidates in Aurora, Colorado, or Melbourne, Florida. The engineer leads solution architecture and technical planning, aligns engineering work with customer goals, plans resources, and sets standards for code quality, testing, and security. The role leads development, integration, testing, deployment, and maintenance of resilient, high-availability cloud software; provisions development through production environments; and automates builds, deployments, and rollbacks with GitLab CI/CD. It includes scheduled on-call support, collaboration in a fast-paced Agile environment, and technical briefings to project managers and customers, including quarterly Program Management Reviews. Travel of up to 10% may be required for customer-hosted quarterly PMRs.

Requirements

At least 8 years of experience with a bachelor’s degree; 6 years with a master’s degree; 3 years with a Ph.D.; or 12 years of relevant experience without a degree.
Active TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraph; U.S. citizenship required.
Security+ certification, or ability to obtain it within 90 days of hire.
Experience defining technical roadmaps, planning resources, and aligning engineering tasks with customer goals.
Back-end development experience with Java and Spring/Spring Boot.
Front-end proficiency with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and a modern framework such as Angular, React, or Vue.js.
Hands-on experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
Experience with GitLab CI/CD, including Pipelines, SonarQube, SAST, NexusIQ, and dependency scanning.
Experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud and containerized systems.
Experience provisioning environments and building, deploying, updating, and rolling back applications within them.

Nice To Haves

Experience with Java 17, JUnit 5, and Mockito.
Hands-on experience with MongoDB.
Experience with Kubernetes (RKE/RKE2), Docker, and Helm.
Experience with messaging platforms such as RabbitMQ or similar.
Experience with PKI authentication/certificates, Keycloak, and OIDC.
Experience with observability tools such as Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, and Alertmanager.
Experience with Atlassian tools (Jira, Confluence) and test automation (Cucumber, Selenium).
Understanding of systems engineering principles and documentation.

Responsibilities
