About The Position

The Lead Forklift Operator prepares orders for shipment by verifying documentation, quantity, quality, labeling, and addressing of finished goods ready for shipment. This role requires the individual to be the site leader in living and driving the Company Core Values and High-Performance Work Culture.

Requirements

  • Must be qualified to operate a Forklift in a safe and efficient manner and meet annual training and certification requirements
  • Must possess above average math skills
  • Must possess above average reading and comprehension skills
  • Must possess ability to work and communicate with Sales Department, other employees and supervisory personnel
  • Must maintain a high percent of accuracy on pulled orders and documentation
  • Must be able to work independently to pull orders
  • 2-4 years of experience in Warehousing, shipping, and receiving
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions and correspondence in English.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure; using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, and diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to use hands, fingers, to handle and/or feel, and talk and/or hear.
  • Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and reach with hands and arms.
  • Sometimes required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and smell.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Must frequently lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to operate the fork truck in a safe and expeditious manner so that there are no delays in the manufacturing or in the shipping operations.
  • Must be able to safely and efficiently operate the lift at its maximum lift height (approximately 180”).

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklift to unload raw material trailers and load finished product onto trailers
  • Responsible for scanning all material that is moved, to ensure inventory accuracy is not compromised
  • Count, weigh and/or examine packaging and contents of finished goods for conformance to company specifications and requirements
  • Delivers material in correct location per plant layout and make suggestions for improvement
  • Master shipping and receiving in case of material coordinator absence
  • Managing E Maintenance
  • Managing of drums and putting coating away as it arrives
  • Other duties as assigned
