About The Position

Mauser Packaging Solutions is seeking a dedicated Lead Forklift Operator for the 2nd shift (2 PM - 10:30 PM). This role involves coordinating daily forklift activities, serving as a lead resource for operators, training new team members, and ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of warehouse operations, safety regulations, and inventory control, and will contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of forklift experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
  • Valid forklift certification/license required.
  • Demonstrated ability to safely operate sit-down forklifts and other powered industrial trucks.
  • Working knowledge of shipping, receiving, inventory control, and warehouse operations.
  • Ability to train and coach employees on safe forklift operation and warehouse procedures.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and coordinate multiple material movements in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of OSHA safety requirements and material handling best practices.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stand, and work overtime as required.

  • Previous experience serving as a lead, trainer, or subject matter expert preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily forklift activities to ensure the timely movement of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods.
  • Serve as the lead resource for forklift operators by providing guidance, answering questions, and assisting with daily operational issues.
  • Train and mentor new forklift operators on equipment operation, warehouse procedures, safety practices, and material handling requirements.
  • Read work orders and shipping documentation to determine material movement and shipping priorities.
  • Safely load, unload, transport, stack, and store raw materials and finished products without damage.
  • Ensure finished goods are staged, stored, and loaded according to shipping requirements and warehouse procedures.
  • Inspect trailers prior to loading to verify they are clean, free of damage, and suitable for shipment.
  • Coordinate with Production, Shipping, Receiving, and Quality to maintain the efficient flow of materials throughout the facility.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy and assist with cycle counts and physical inventories.
  • Ensure nonconforming product is properly identified and segregated.
  • Verify forklift inspections, preventive maintenance checklists, and battery change logs are completed accurately each shift.
  • Identify equipment, inventory, or safety concerns and communicate issues promptly to warehouse leadership.
  • Promote and maintain housekeeping standards throughout warehouse and production support areas.
  • Assist with scheduling work priorities and providing break relief as needed.
  • Cover opposite-shift vacations and support operational needs during staffing shortages.
  • Maintain compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, environmental requirements, and Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR Part 172.704).
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to improve warehouse safety, productivity, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
