About The Position

We are in search of a warm and engaging professional Lead Food & Beverage Server, responsible for leading the F&B Server team in daily duties to ensure professional, competent and prompt service to guests, providing the best possible dining experiences according to the standards of Bow & Bend. Nestled atop the 12th floor, in Calgary’s vibrant west-end, overlooking the majestic Bow River, Bow & Bend brings the outdoors in as the Bow’s gentle bends mirror the tranquility of this signature 150-seat rooftop restaurant and bar. At its core are the finest culinarians and mixologists eagerly waiting to fulfill our customers’ dreams of an indulgent and refined dining experience. At Bow & Bend, we provide warm and attentive service in a visually stunning environment with an artfully crafted menu, embracing eco-conscious practices, through conscious choices and initiatives.

Requirements

  • A seasoned professional with a minimum of one year experience in a team lead capacity in a large, upscale Restaurant operation in a downtown city center.
  • Someone with an outstanding work ethic, along with a track record of reliability, punctuality and an approachable demeanor, with a strong commitment to safety.
  • Able to work well under pressure and enjoy a fast-paced environment.
  • Good knowledge of wine and wine pairings.
  • Valid ProServe certification.
  • Excellent communicator who values teamwork and collaboration.
  • Someone who has solid leadership skills, adept at training, coaching and motivating a team of service professionals.
  • Open availability, able to work a variety of shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays.
  • Physically able to stand, sit, walk, push, pull, crouch, and lift or carry objects up to 20 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

  • Always provide the highest quality of service to our guests and associates alike, leading by example.
  • Train, maintain and enforce all service standards.
  • Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all associates and guests. Report unsafe conditions to manager.
  • Understand and teach empowerment principles to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Listen and provide support to team members, to ensure associate satisfaction and retention.
  • Greet guests as they enter, consistently delivering exceptional service.
  • Provide fast, friendly, professional, and responsive guest service to restaurant guests, restaurant staff and culinary production team.
  • Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take action to correct any problems.
  • Ensure opening and closing procedures are completed.
  • Attend stand up and/or taste panel and being aware of daily specials, soups, drinks, having knowledge of all menu items, their garnish, etc.
  • Being prepared to answer questions from customers on menu items (preparation, etc.).
  • Create a pleasant, friendly, hospitable, effective and professional working atmosphere at all times- this involves being genuine in all interactions.
  • Comply with established procedures in standard ProServe beverage practices regarding the serving of alcohol and the identification of minors.
  • Provide supervisory support in the absence of a supervisor.
