Requirements
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company MVR guidelines
- 1+ year of experience working with diesel or heavy-duty engines
- ability to provide personal hand tools for daily work
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- 2 + years of mechanic experience on light and heavy equipment required
- Must be able to supply automotive hand tools
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
- Travel, as required, to service calls
- Physical requirements: Sit, stand, walk, bend, kneel/squat, climb stairs, overhead reach, grasp, and lift, carry, push/pull up to 50 lbs.
Nice To Haves
- Automotive/Mechanical Trade or Vocational certification preferred
- Class A Commercial Driver’s License preferred
- ASE Certicication preferred
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and complete repairs on all types of vehicles
- Schedule and perform routine maintenance services, such as oil changes, lubrications, and tune-ups.
- Test drive vehicles and test components, systems, and equipment
- Work with team members to obtain descriptions of vehicle problems, to discuss work to be performed, and future repair requirements
- Responds to service calls
- Maintain tools
- Maintain a safe and clean work area
- Coordinate and monitor department repair and employee work schedules
- Assist in the new and ongoing training of fleet employees
