About The Position
We have partnered with a 65-year-old, family-owned irrigation and landscaping company seeking a skilled Lead Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair their fleet of gas and diesel trucks, trailers, pickups, and landscaping equipment. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a Fleet Mechanic, Diesel Mechanic, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, or Automotive Mechanic
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting abilities
- Experience with gas and diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical diagnostics
- Comfortable using scan tools and computerized diagnostic equipment
Nice To Haves
- NYS Inspector Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- ASE Certifications are a plus
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair gas and diesel trucks, trailers, pickups, and landscaping equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance and major mechanical repairs
- Troubleshoot engines, electrical, hydraulic, brake, suspension, and drivetrain systems
- Use scan tools and diagnostic software to quickly identify mechanical issues
- Maintain accurate service records and minimize fleet downtime
- Perform (or obtain certification to perform) New York State vehicle inspections
