Operating at the unique intersection of a high-growth fintech and a nationally chartered bank, this role is far more than traditional budgeting. You will act as a vital strategic partner to our executive team, turning complex financial data into actionable, forward-looking insights that scale our business responsibly. In this position, you will drive our enterprise-wide financial forecasting, strategic capital allocation, and business unit finance. Requirements

  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, with a significant portion spent leading FP&A or Business Finance teams within a banking, fintech, or regulated financial services environment.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of bank revenue, expense, and balance sheet mechanics
  • Exceptional ability to distill highly technical financial information into clear, compelling narratives for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
  • Expert-level financial modeling skills with a track record of using AI and modern business finance and FP&A software tools to automate data aggregation and scale forecasting processes.
  • A collaborative, growth-oriented mindset with a passion for serving Varo’s core customer base

Responsibilities

  • Own the enterprise-wide annual budgeting, rolling forecasting, and long-range strategic planning processes, translating company goals into robust financial models.
  • Act as the primary financial advisor to business unit leaders, delivering deep-dive analyses on unit economics, margins, and investment KPIs to optimize operational performance.
  • Synthesize complex financial performance, variances, and strategic trade-offs into high-impact presentations for the executive team, Board of Directors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing FP&A team, fostering an inclusive, data-driven culture focused on continuous improvement and automation.
