About The Position

Eaton’s Critical Power Solutions (CPS) Division is seeking a Lead Field Service Electronics Technician to join their team. This role provides on-site support, offering emergency repairs, start-up services, and preventative maintenance to ensure peak performance and reliability of advanced UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution solutions. The position is based in the greater Salt Lake City, UT area and is a remote position operating from a home office with daily travel to customer sites and occasional overnight stays. A company vehicle is provided.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
  • Two (2) years of Power Systems, battery technologies and/or electronics experience including relevant coursework and internship experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted State Driver's license.
  • Must undergo and pass customer entrance requirements as needed, which may include, but is not limited to, periodic background checks and drug screenings.
  • Daily travel to customer sites is required, utilizing an Eaton-provided fleet vehicle.
  • Provide support for customer needs outside the immediate region within the USA for a minimum of three (3) weeks per quarter.
  • Must perform physical tasks as needed, including assisted lifting/carrying 50+ lbs., pushing/pulling, standing for extended periods, climbing, squatting, bending, kneeling, and driving long distances.
  • Reside within the greater Salt Lake City, UT area.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in electrical or electronics from an accredited institution, current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree engineering program at an accredited institution or applicable military training and experience.
  • Three (3)+ years experience working with power systems, battery technologies and/or electronics.
  • Electrical Technology Certificate.
  • Ability to read electrical component schematic drawings and apply troubleshooting, testing, and repair techniques.
  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, battery systems, and single- and three-phase circuits.

  • Ensure peak performance and reliability of advanced UPS systems, batteries, and power distribution solutions.
  • Deliver innovative solutions and technical expertise that safeguard operations and maximize uptime.
  • Collaborate with Field Service Technicians, taking direction from on-site leads.
  • Strictly follow company/customer safety rules for a secure work environment.
