About The Position

ConvenientMD is seeking a compassionate and experienced seasonal Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join their team as a Lead Provider. This role involves providing exceptional care and making a significant impact on patients' lives within an urgent care clinic. Lead Providers serve as clinical leaders for all clinical staff, mentoring and supporting new-graduate providers and allied healthcare professionals. This position is ideal for an NP who thrives in a collaborative environment, enjoys mentorship, and is passionate about delivering high-quality care. The role is seasonal, from late May through early September, with potential for extension.

Requirements

  • Master's degree and certification by Nurse Practitioner (NP) certifying body.
  • Must have and maintain a DEA license with no restrictions.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Clinical experience in emergency medicine, urgent care, or ambulatory care setting is preferred.
  • Strong leadership skills; willing and able to mentor provider and non-provider clinic staff.
  • Excellent team player; enjoys collaborating with others.
  • Proactive and confident communicator (written and verbal).
  • Compassionate, authentic, and patient-focused.
  • Technically savvy; proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software and clinical management systems (EMR).
  • Strong knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant drugs, their chemical composition, structure, and properties.
  • Strong knowledge of non-pharmaceutical patient care aids.
  • Strong knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct health assessments, physical exams, and review medical histories to address short- and long-term patient needs.
  • Interview patients, perform physical examinations, and obtain, update, and study medical histories.
  • Administer or order diagnostic tests (e.g., x-rays, electrocardiograms, laboratory studies) and interpret test results to determine abnormal conditions.
  • Perform therapeutic procedures such as administering injections and immunizations, suturing, and managing wounds and infections.
  • Educate and counsel patients about their health, therapeutic regimens, normal growth and development, family planning, and wellness.
  • Prepare clear, complete, accurate, and legible medical records for each patient using EMR.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment in compliance with company and state procedures.
  • Adhere to infection-control policies and protocols to protect patients and employees.
  • Comply with legal and professional requirements, including HIPAA and OSHA.
  • Collaborate with other providers and health care practitioners to efficiently treat patients and plan coordinated dispositions.
  • Act as a clinic leader, providing support and mentorship to new-graduate providers and other clinic staff.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Act as a preceptor to new provider staff, providing educational and experiential growth opportunities.
