Lead Facility Engineer
About The Position
The Lead Facility Engineer is responsible for a broad spectrum of engineering activities related to their assigned facilities. You will report to the Manager of Lead Facility Engineering Department. The Lead Facility Engineer applies knowledge, practices, technique and experience in a leadership role working with engineering, facility management, operations, maintenance, and programmatic personnel for the following: Manage facility system configurations Specification of system equipment maintenance Monitor equipment and systems performance Develop engineering strategy for the facility Identify and prioritize issues for the Facility Health Committee (FHC) Failure analysis Modification Design Operations Support Engineering Leadership
Requirements
- Level 4: Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 9 years' experience, or a Master’s in an engineering discipline and 6 years' experience, or a PhD in an engineering discipline and 4 years' experience.
- Level 5: Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 14 years of experience. Master's and 8 years' experience. PhD and 6 years of experience.
- Must be able to obtain MFC Lead Facility Engineer Qualification.
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Nice To Haves
- Professional Engineering license is desirable but not required
- Knowledge of configuration management processes
- Experience working in the DOE complex and/or Nuclear Facilities
