About The Position

Ensures that daily work and special projects are completed in a safe, efficient and professional manner. Assists with the supervision facilities staff as necessary. Serves as a liaison between management and facilities staff. Inspects buildings and other structures to determine building maintenance needs and safety checks, prioritizing work and taking corrective actions. Schedules and performs preventative maintenance on buildings, including but not limited to: repair and maintenance on skilled and finished carpentry, knowledge of electrical and capable to use a multi meter, painting, plastering, plastering, drywall, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical repair work, door hardware, minor concrete work, caulking, roofing and flooring. May coordinate with other departments in accomplishing during work hours or outside work hours if necessary. On call one weekend a month. Follow all OSHA standards and complete job safety analysis as required. Drafts and completes inspection and preventative maintenance reports. May perform research and/or attend training on proper maintenance procedures. Must be capable of preparing accurate and comprehensive material lists. Reads and interprets sketches, diagrams, and blueprints. Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies and promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of seven years’ experience in commercial building maintenance and/or construction.
  • Must have thorough knowledge of tools and able to add, subtract, and multiply fractions.
  • Ability to learn, read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures and technical manuals, and wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Must be able to handle heights.
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds frequently.
  • CPR certification may be required based on location.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts as dictated by need of facility.
  • Must be able to attend trainings and travel as needed.
  • Must successfully pass all applicable background checks and drug screens.
