About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining the continuity of site Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and supporting compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations. The position involves tracking, analyzing, and reporting on key safety and environmental metrics, audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities. It also includes coordinating and supporting site iAudits, Safety Committee meetings, safety campaigns, and the closure of EHS action items. The role requires reviewing and improving EHS procedures and programs such as Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), chemical use, emergency response, and PPE. Additionally, it supports the development and deployment of EHS training materials and partners remotely with various teams to provide EHS guidance and ensure timely execution of site priorities. The position also supports environmental compliance initiatives, including hazardous waste management, permit tracking, and sustainability efforts tied to Net Zero goals, while promoting and supporting site safety culture initiatives.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of EHS experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Experience supporting audits, risk assessments, training programs, and corrective action systems.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with ability to lead remotely and influence across functions.
  • All employees are required to follow the site EHS procedures and Coherent Corp. Corporate EHS standards.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in high-tech manufacturing, chemical processing, or regulated industrial environments preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain continuity of site Environmental, Health & Safety programs and support compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct tracking, analysis, and reporting of key safety and environmental metrics, audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities.
  • Coordinate and support monthly site iAudits, Safety Committee meetings, quarterly safety campaigns, and closure of open EHS action items.
  • Review, update, and improve EHS procedures and programs including Lock Out/Tag Out (LOTO), chemical use processes, emergency response documentation, and PPE programs.
  • Support development and deployment of EHS training materials related to chemical handling, PPE use, emergency response, and general site safety.
  • Partner remotely with Facilities, Operations, Engineering, HR, and Production teams to provide EHS guidance and ensure timely execution of site priorities.
  • Support environmental compliance initiatives including hazardous waste management, permit tracking, and sustainability initiatives tied to Scope 1 & 2 Net Zero goals.
  • Promote and support site safety culture initiatives including First Responder Team engagement, employee awareness campaigns, and continuous improvement activities.
