About The Position

Valto, Inc. is seeking a Lead Extra for its Florence, Kentucky operation. Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Lead Extra serves as the primary backup to the Group Lead and supports all wet end production functions. The role assists with production startups, shutdowns, changeovers, troubleshooting, employee training, and daily production activities. It also requires flexibility to fill in for other positions, including Resin Mixer, to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate has manufacturing, resin mixing, or production experience; leadership potential; troubleshooting abilities; and experience supporting multiple manufacturing processes. The position calls for knowledge of resin systems, production operations, process controls, and safe chemical handling practices. The schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Valto offers bonus eligibility and a competitive benefits program.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous manufacturing, chemical processing, resin mixing, or production operations experience preferred.
Certified or capable of becoming certified as an Operator, Utility Operator, and Resin Mixer.
Ability to safely and effectively operate forklifts, overhead cranes, production equipment, and line controls.
Understanding of resin mixing operations, material handling procedures, hazardous materials, and production processes.
3–5 years of manufacturing, resin mixing, or production experience is identified as part of the ideal candidate profile.

Responsibilities

Serve as backup to the Group Lead, support daily operations, and assume leadership responsibilities when the Group Lead is absent.
Assist with production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers to keep processes safe, efficient, and aligned with production schedules.
Fill in as needed for Operator, Wet End Utility Operator, and Resin Mixer positions to cover staffing needs, breaks, and absences.
Help troubleshoot process, equipment, and production issues with Maintenance, Technical, and Production teams to minimize downtime and improve performance.
Support employee training and development and help ensure associates can safely perform their assigned duties.
Prepare equipment, materials, and process settings for upcoming production runs.
Support housekeeping, TPM, and operational excellence initiatives.
