About The Position

We are seeking a highly experienced Lead Estimator to manage the entire estimating lifecycle for commercial construction projects. This full-time role involves leading estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission, including subcontractor solicitation, scope review, leveling, and bid evaluation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial construction estimating, leadership experience, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Requirements

7+ years of commercial construction estimating experience.
Experience leading estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
Proven experience managing the entire bid process, including subcontractor solicitation, scope review, leveling, and bid evaluation.
Experience estimating commercial construction projects such as: Restaurants, Schools, Car dealerships, Office buildings, Retail spaces, Ground-up construction, Multi-family or multi-unit housing.
Strong blueprint and specification reading skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Proficiency with construction estimating software.
Leadership experience supervising or mentoring estimators and support staff.
Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously (4–5 active projects).
Experience leading turnover meetings and coordinating with operations teams after project award.
Strong subcontractor relationship management skills.
Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field, or equivalent construction estimating experience.

Nice To Haves

Timberline (Sage Estimating) experience preferred.
General Contractor (GC) estimating experience.
Ground-up commercial construction experience.
Experience reviewing subcontractor scope sheets and leveling bids.
Experience working closely with operations, accounting, and project management teams.

Responsibilities

Lead estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid submission.
Manage the entire bid process, including subcontractor solicitation, scope review, leveling, and bid evaluation.
Prepare conceptual estimates, budget estimates, hard bid estimates, cost analyses, and bid proposals.
Supervise or mentor estimators and support staff.

Develop bid strategies.
Coordinate subcontractor pricing.
Review subcontractor scope sheets and level bids.
