About The Position

The Lead Equipment Operator plays a critical role in maintaining safe and efficient plant operations of all equipment associated with MSW and non-processable material. Reporting to the Transfer Station Supervisor, works with the Supervisor to process all incoming materials and coordinate deliveries. Responsible to direct the Equipment Operators' workload which includes material processing, PMs, and reporting corrective maintenance as needs.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in operation of loaders and heavy equipment.
  • Must be familiar with computers and MS Excel.
  • Accept communications from various company entities via company cell phone.

Responsibilities

  • Knows, Understands, Maintains and enforces standard Company policies, especially in safety and health.
  • Maintains records of trucking deliveries, driver, and compactor operations and production during normal and abnormal conditions; reports appropriate information to the supervisor manager on a timely basis.
  • Receive and process inbound materials, through the safe operation of various types of industrial equipment, such as front loader, bulldozer, forklift, skid steer, roll-off truck, walking floor trailer, pressure washer, material handling equipment, and various hand tools.
  • Receive, weigh, pack, and log containers, as necessary.
  • Safely navigate and operate industrial equipment to consolidate dumped refuse on the tipping floor.
  • Oversee the loading of railcars of Municipal Solid Waste and ensure all delivered waste is transported in a timely manner so as not to impact train schedules.
  • Report out daily to management level staff on key production metrics.
  • Coordinate train logistics between multiple parties.
  • Overseeing the record keeping of required logs to be completed daily along with the timely completion of preventative and corrective maintenance.
  • Prepares work requests for equipment repair and maintenance.
  • Maintains appropriate communication lines with management, peers and subordinates, on a timely basis.
  • Ensures that facilities and equipment are maintained in good working order, completing work requests for maintenance when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
