Position Summary: Technicians are responsible for participating with the Fabrication team members in planning, organizing, and performing the necessary maintenance and shop functions to maintain the facility and/or equipment under the supervision of the Manager.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 5 years of Machinist experience required.
  • Knowledge of Maintenance, Machine shop and/or Fabrication Shop operations with demonstrated expertise in two or more skilled trade areas and has adequate knowledge in all these areas to work seamlessly.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent math skills. Can use Trigonometry to solve angles, convert fractions to decimals, accurately read precision measuring tools such as calipers/micrometers and accurately read a tape measure.
  • Good Computer skills (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Good people skills at all levels of management
  • Leadership qualities

Responsibilities

  • Comply with all Safety rules, Nestle Integrated Management System and all other company policies and procedures
  • Complete work orders in AMM (Asset and Maintenance Management) work orders using shop equipment or portable equipment for work in the Fabrication area and other departments such as pilot plants.
  • Need proficient knowledge of CNC/manual lathes and mills
  • Should have basic knowledge press breaks, industrial shears, roll forming, water jet, and other fabrication machines and tools.
  • Accurately Create, read, and interpret drawings, blueprints, and sketches. (Autocad Inventor, Autocad)
  • Make machine and material selections.
  • Conceive ideas and produce parts to solve production problems.
  • Be able to work from verbal instructions and rough sketches.
  • Successful mechanical installation, alignment, integration, and commissioning of new or modified equipment.
  • Assists others in setups and problem solving when asked.
  • Participate (give/receive) cross training to promote broad knowledge base in equipment, processes, and utility systems.
  • Custom fabricates parts, frames, brackets, piping, and mechanical assemblies fabricated to specification, with proper fit‑up and workmanship.
  • Determine as needed fits, finishes and equipment functionality.
  • Emergency repair-support of equipment breakdowns, safety, and quality issues
  • Requires ability to use machine/equipment manuals and reference books and to work independently and as a team.
  • Work in a TEAM environment.
  • Clean up equipment and work area at end of your shift. Maintain a safe, clean work area for team and self
  • High quality and quantity of work completed by self and team.
  • Interact and participate with project teams as required.
  • Requires working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and test equipment.
  • Monitor and coordinate contractor’s activities on site and their compliance with NDC Marysville contractor work rules program.
  • Other duties as assigned.
