About The Position

As a Lead Engineering Technician here at Honeywell Aerospace, you will play a pivotal role in leading technical activities and supporting engineering projects. This role will follow procedures and processes using various equipment to complete tasks while also working on more complex activities independently. You will at our Phoenix, AZ location on an ONSITE work schedule. NO relocation offered.

Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of hands-on experience working with analytical instruments in a laboratory setting.
  • Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status or have the ability to obtain an export authorization.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in STEM.
  • Wet Chemistry background (Titrations, ICP, Viscosity, FTIR, UV-VIS), Metallography & SEM experience.
  • Good record keeping/organizational & communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, and able to multi-task.
  • SAP experience.
  • Familiarity with chemical handling, storage and safety precautions.
  • Awareness of safe laboratory practices, including proper procedures for handling, storage and disposal of strong acids, bases, volatile solvents, toxic chemicals; and an understanding of their hazards.
  • Ability to interpret and update Work Instructions.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little supervision, who consistently take the initiative to get things done, do things before being asked for by others or forced to by events.
  • Ability to consistently make timely decisions even in the faces of complexity, balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness.

Responsibilities

  • Management of workload distribution as well as execution of a variety of tasks related to Viscosity, ICP, Titrations, UV-Vis within Chemistry lab.
  • Metallography (grinding, polishing, etching, analyzing microstructure of common alloys in aerospace industry), SEM and Hardness Testing within Metallography Lab.
  • Work with a team of Technicians in assisting experienced Engineers with a variety of day-to-day recurring tasks.
  • Use your expertise to develop and implement work practices and procedures.
  • Meeting with engineering to clearly understand requirements of the work request; ability to interface with engineering personnel to resolve technical issues.
  • Must be able to clearly articulate in verbal and written communication the technical concepts related to lab work and analysis.
