About The Position

The Lead Engineer is responsible for maintaining the building's physical, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This role ensures the security, cleanliness, preventive maintenance, and repair of all engineering department tools, equipment, and safety features in accordance with established procedures. The Lead Engineer will also ensure that maintenance and engineering storerooms and workspaces are kept clean and orderly, with all tools, equipment, and spare parts stored properly. This position is responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment, and for completing delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner. The role may require working evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts, and maintaining open and effective lines of communication to address issues promptly. Reporting and addressing unsafe conditions immediately is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Must have knowledge and the ability to operate tools, hand tools in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ability to effectively perform patching, caulking, painting, or staining of a variety of surfaces.
  • Ability to read temperature gauges, utility meters, etc.
  • Must possess basic math skills such as addition, subtraction, and understanding units of measurement
  • Ability to read, speak, and type English fluently
  • Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards
  • Basic computer skills such as typing and email correspondence
  • Weekend availability required

Nice To Haves

  • CPO certification
  • HVAC, plumbing, electrical, OSHA 30, BOC certifications
  • Three-six months Hotel experience
  • Bilingual Spanish/English

Responsibilities

  • Maintains the building’s physical, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems

  • Ensures all maintenance and engineering storerooms and workspaces are kept in a clean and orderly manner and storing all tools, equipment, and spare parts in proper location.
  • Responsible for the proper treatment and care of tools and equipment used to perform tasks.
  • Responsible to complete delegated work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • May work evenings, weekends, and holiday shifts.
  • Provides open and effective lines of communication and addresses issues or concerns in a prompt and efficient manner.
  • Reports and addresses unsafe conditions immediately.
