The Lead Engineer in Test Development designs, develops, and implements automatic test equipment and test programs for product testing and design verification, ensuring robust, high-quality assembled products in manufacturing. Test Development Engineers may focus on structural testing, which verifies assembly processes and component interconnects, or functional testing, which verifies that a design performs its intended purpose. The role works independently on most aspects of assignments within established professional standards and practices. It involves moderately complex work requiring judgment, with general supervision; situations outside standard processes are referred to a manager or expert resource. The engineer may demonstrate methods to new employees and builds internal and external relationships that support job responsibilities, including relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams. The position leads technical work across the manufacturing test development process, from test strategy and architecture through equipment selection, code development, integration, validation, qualification, installation, and production stabilization. It collaborates with customers, design teams, suppliers, and internal teams to deliver production test solutions and improve test coverage, diagnosability, reparability, yield, cycle time, and false-failure rates. Some travel to overseas locations may be required. Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and employment is conditional on successful security screening under the Controlled Goods Regulations and ITAR.
