About The Position

Drives initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the Engineering function and interfaces with other functions to provide effective coordination of metrics, dashboards, functional processes, and cross-functional initiative coordination. Impacts approaches, projects and programs in the functional area or affected business organization and ways of working. Impacts quality, efficiency and effectiveness of own team. Have significant input into priorities. Guided by professional practices and policies that are shaped by the role. The role has moderate autonomy, requiring high levels of operational judgment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in systems engineering
  • Ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).

Responsibilities

  • Establishes appropriate daily management and weekly operating reviews to ensure on schedule/on budget program execution.
  • Responsible for driving Risk trades within the teams.
  • Manages customer contracts for engineering team by working closely with finance, project, and contract teams.
  • Process tracking, metrics tracking.
  • Responsible for quarterly strategic workforce planning and various other data collections that are used for organizational decision making.
  • Drive LOB (Line of Balance) activity for demonstrator/technology programs.
  • Prepare and present material for financial/schedule approvals at PCB (Program Control Board).
  • Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline.
  • Serves as best practice/quality resource.
  • Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
  • Contributes, towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
  • Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
  • Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering.
  • Takes new perspective on existing solutions.
  • Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
  • May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.
  • Explains, difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus.
