About The Position

The Engineer, will analyze, interpret, establish design requirements, and design project deliverables based on customer requirements, engineering information, codes, standards, available technical data, and field inputs. This role will require you to use strong interpersonal skills to build productive relationships with your colleagues, customers, and suppliers, leveraging a Lean mindset to challenge existing processes and support a culture of continuous improvement. You will work as a team player and at times as a task leader, acting with humility, transparency, focus and inclusion; analytically minded, decisive, and collaborative.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, or Computer Science with 5 years of equivalent/relevant work experience.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of engineering discipline plus broad knowledge of multiple engineering fields to influence direction of engineering efforts, coordinate engineering projects, adapt to changing technology, present proposals, and conceive and foster introduction of new concepts and approaches.
  • Technical recommendations and decisions may have significant impact on the effectiveness and integrity of engineering efforts, affecting future business and customer relations.
  • Requires ability to negotiate and influence decisions of Company managers and customers.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD 2D release 18 or later, Rorh, or Caesar II.

Responsibilities

  • Lead small teams of designers in multiple locations as needed to achieve project specific deliverables.
  • Work autonomously on complex tasks.
  • Visualize, conceive, and provide configurations in AutoCAD 2D and or 3D for solutions of design problems and prepare appropriate documents for actions.
  • Analyze interpret and establish design requirements and lead design teams based on engineering information, codes, standards, specifications, and field inputs.
  • Prepare and issue appropriate documentation applying proper Design Standards and Procedures that promote the standardization of product parts and designs while utilizing both internal and remote resources.
  • Design ownership of team deliverables for complex components, assemblies, and systems with 2D or 3D drawings and models as required for each design.
  • Responsible for 2D & 3D model activities, i.e., input, layout, assembly, routing, interference checking, etc. along with other physical related disciplines and equipment.
  • Coordination across multiple disciplines to obtain seamless execution of Business objectives is essential.
  • Takes initiative in design problem resolution.
  • Directly engage suppliers, customers, and field engineers with written and verbal communication for design evolution and problem resolution.
  • Check completed drawings and BOMs from others for accuracy and compliance.
  • Accountable for design team project deliverable schedule and quality.
  • Lead site scoping efforts to establish design concepts.
  • Design experience utilizing Enovia PLM as applied to various product.
  • Working knowledge of designs, tools and process to support parts, retrofits and FNB, (Info web, Vaulting, MTA, Codex).
