About The Position

Our Steam Turbine Engineering team develops and designs highly efficient turbomachines and seeks new talents to join. Latest engineering sciences and disciplines integrated with digital technologies are key competencies we are looking for. New joiners will enjoy a highly empowered and impactful team working across the entire product lifecycle. The Steam Turbine Engineer is responsible for designing both rotating and stationary structure technologies, enabling world-class Steam Turbine performance and efficiency. This is a critical role requiring both system level knowledge of turbomachinery (Thermodynamics) and detailed mechanical design.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • 0-1- year engineering experience
  • Demonstrated excellence applying fundamentals of Thermodynamics and Mechanical Design, including material properties, statics, strength of materials, fluid dynamics, stress/strain fatigue (LCF & HCF) and creep.
  • Demonstrated experience with Finite Element Analysis (ANYSIS).

Responsibilities

  • Own component design in execution of NPI, ITR, and factory/field support activities for new units and aftermarket services
  • Drive technology advancements from a Shaftline System, subsystem, component and material / life vantage points
  • Collaborate with global & cross-functional team of internal Steam Turbine Engineers and external stakeholders (Drafting/Global Supply Chain) enabling & fostering mutual technical growth and delivering for our customers.
  • Follow rigorous R&D Tollgate Process from Conceptual Design thru field validation for component design across the full spectrum of Gas Power turbine configurations.
  • Execute appropriate engineering analysis (hand-calcs, FEA analysis) to ensure robust designs meet all required CTQs.
