About The Position

The Lead Engineer - Customer Application Engineering is responsible for developing customized steam turbine upgrade technical solutions during the tendering (ITO) phase. This role involves translating customer requirements into optimized, compliant proposals, managing performance/cost/risk inputs, and supporting commercial teams with technical expertise for competitive bids and customer discussions. The company's mission is to electrify the world while working to decarbonize it, focusing on a new era of lower carbon energy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technology, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Experience in application engineering, proposal engineering, or customer-facing technical roles
  • Proven experience in steam turbines design
  • Ability to interpret customer specifications and technical requirements
  • Knowledge of system configuration, performance analysis, and costing
  • Understanding of key business drivers and customer value considerations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, waste elimination, planning and decision-making skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, including technical communication
  • Ability to work independently, collaborate across teams, and build strong customer relationships

Responsibilities

  • Development of technical proposal documentation for the customer
  • Development of technical solutions and product configurations during the ITO phase and product customization for specific customer needs
  • Analyze customer requirements and define optimized technical scope
  • Management of performance calculations inputs and outputs for technical guarantees purpose
  • Cost management and technical risk management
  • Support commercial teams with technical expertise for competitive bid strategies and during customer negotiations
  • Ensure compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, contract requirements, and internal procedures
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams including sales, commercial, engineering, sourcing, and project teams
