About The Position

A mechanical or aerospace engineer with gas turbine combustor experience who will contribute to, and collectively own, the aerothermal aspects of the design, development, testing, emissions capability and operability of GE's industrial gas turbine aeroderivative combustion systems. The role entails fast-paced, diverse engineering deliverables in both hands-on and desk/computer contexts, including exposure to all elements of the engineering cycle: design hand-calcs, flow-modeling, lab work, CFD, full temperature & pressure testing, probabilistic analysis & data reduction, and verbal & written presenting of data/conclusions.

Requirements

• A Bachelors’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
• Minimum 4 years of engineering experience in the industry.

• A Masters’ Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or closely related engineering discipline
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in gas turbine design
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in combustion design

Responsibilities

• Design combustion systems to meet overall gas turbine product requirements.
• Complete procedures, design templates, and other standard work methods using hand calculations, test data, and good engineering judgment to justify designs against acceptance criteria.
• Make decisions with a defined framework.
• Consult and seek support from more senior members when necessary to accomplish defined work/priorities.
• Effectively document and present results in formal and informal reviews.
• Protect the IP rights of the Company and agree to the overall business priorities: 1. Safety, 2. Quality, 3. Delivery, 4. Cost, and prioritized in this order.
• Use prior experience, good engineering judgment, and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks.
• Arrive at engineering solutions with a team having similar goals with multiple resources, internal and external to your own team.
