About The Position

The Lead Energy Distribution Manager position is responsible for ensuring energy deliveries are being routed to the truck drivers and are being completed, as fuel/propane orders come in from customers, as well as the operations and maintenance of the refined fuel truck and the L.P. gas truck for the assigned region. This position would also oversee any technician work performed by employees under this position. This includes the delivery, operations duties, and sales of refined fuels and propane to the customers of the cooperative.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or 3-5 years of previous experience within fuel and L.P. gas delivery business OR related experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of the cooperative.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, volume, and weights.
  • Commercial Driver’s License Class B required.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Able to deal with problems with several concrete variables in standard situations.
  • Must be able to think quickly and perform a mental assessment of workplace hazards, take appropriate precautions, and choose appropriate PPE as dictated by need, regulation and labeling.

  • Commercial Driver’s License Class A, with Haz-Mat Endorsement, Air Brake Endorsement, Tanker Endorsement, and CETP (Certified Employee Training Program) Certification.

Responsibilities

  • Work schedules and time management for each Energy Delivery Driver & Energy Operations Technician in their assigned area.
  • Routing Energy Delivery Drivers daily as the fuel orders are called in from customers and assisting drivers if they have questions about fuel orders.
  • Overseeing the maintenance and repairs of the refined fuel delivery truck, L.P. gas delivery truck, and facilities and reporting any concerns to management.
  • Inventory at the regional bulk plant(s) as well as monitoring fuel needs for the regional cardtrols.
  • Timely and efficient delivery of refined fuels and propane while complying with safety regulations.
  • Maintaining customer records in route book and truck log per DOT regulations.
  • Maintaining a clean work area and equipment.
  • Safety checks on customers’ propane systems and completing them when required for state and federal regulations.
  • Installing propane systems for residential, business, or agricultural needs.
  • Performing maintenance on customer tanks for both fuel and propane while also making the appropriate corrections/fixes.
  • Installing monitors on customer propane and fuel tanks as needed.
  • Making out sales tickets as deliveries are made and preparing the daily delivery report.
  • Reporting to management opportunities for increased sales and improved efficiencies in operation of the petroleum department.
  • Operating vehicles, large trucks, forklift, and other equipment in a safe manner and maintaining a safe driving record.
