About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Electrical Estimator to join our team supporting some of the industry's most challenging and high-profile projects. In this role, you will lead the development of accurate and competitive cost estimates for large-scale, complex projects across specialized markets, including nuclear power, uranium enrichment, and other critical infrastructure sectors. The Lead Electrical Estimator is responsible for performing comprehensive material takeoffs, cost analyses, estimate preparation, and presentation of discipline-specific estimates throughout the project lifecycle. This position plays a key role in supporting strategic project pursuits by providing reliable cost data and estimating expertise that drive informed business decisions. In addition to project estimating responsibilities, you will contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating practices through the maintenance of historical cost databases, development of estimating tools and procedures, and mentorship of team members. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in the planning and execution of electrical construction works, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary project teams. Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, or a related technology field, or equivalent relevant work experience emphasis in Electrical and Instrument & Control
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Estimating
  • A minimum of 5+ years of experience in Engineering
  • Strong work ethic and interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work on a team as well as work independently with little or no supervision
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Ability to obtain OPG clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel is preferred
  • Experience with inEight estimate and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and oversee district estimating program and activities including the development of policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the proper Kiewit estimating system template(s) are utilized
  • Maintain training program for estimating staff, update and maintain lead estimator and sponsor manuals, and supervise district scheduling department.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all engineering deliverables are produced, checked, and issued to the estimate team on schedule
  • Provide direction to the estimate electrical team and assign tasks to team.
  • Provide oversight of all information being entered into the Kiewit estimating system to ensure an accurate electrical estimate
  • Develop Electrical Estimate Risks & Opportunities.
  • Develop Electrical Estimate Clarifications & Exceptions
  • Coordinate with the business development department in the preparation of proposal documents.
  • Provide estimating support for numerous projects, perform quantity takeoffs, and solicit, evaluate, and incorporate vendor or manufacturer material and subcontract pricing.
  • Prepare for all reviews in accordance with the Kiewit estimating standards.
  • Prepare recaps, pricing sheets, bid forms, and other proposal documents for in-house review and bid submittal
  • Present Estimate to Kiewit Leadership.
  • Coordinate with Estimating Department Management on Electrical related issues
  • Assist Electrical Estimating Department Manager in developing and maintaining standard tools & any Departmental Initiatives
