About The Position

This position offers the opportunity to work in a project team environment with other engineers and designers involved in the design, modification, and analysis of new and existing oil and gas facility electrical systems. This role also supports the design of power plants and other industrial facilities. As a Lead Electrical Engineer, you will work on challenging assignments including investigating, troubleshooting, and solving a wide variety of electrical engineering issues. You will lead efforts to ensure projects are completed satisfactorily, on time, and within budget, and coordinate systems design activities to ensure installation and operations comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing detailed calculations (three-phase power transient studies, voltage drop, protective relay settings), preparing documentation for design input for drawing production, interfacing with vendors for materials and equipment purchase specifications, preparing technical reports and studies, and performing independent reviews of work performed by others. You will also provide guidance and mentorship to less experienced engineers.

Requirements

  • A BSEE degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program is required.
  • 10+ years of experience in power plant or industrial plant design, with a focus on integrated, detailed system design for new facilities, or modifications or replacements for existing facilities specific for Oil and Gas.
  • Experience in the selection of equipment, materials, control philosophy, and the preparation and assembling of calculations and specifications.
  • Experience with electrical system design including medium and low voltage distribution systems (transformers, generators, motors), communication systems, equipment selection, and analytical calculations.
  • Technically knowledgeable of available equipment and proven pre-engineered systems to execute systems design.
  • Experience with serving as firm/client liaison in a support or lead engineering role.
  • Experience in reviewing other engineers design calculations and drawings.

Nice To Haves

  • MSEE preferred.
