About The Position

As a Lead Electrical Engineer at Honeywell, you will play a key role in leading and managing electrical engineering projects. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of electrical systems and components. The Lead Electrical Engineer owns the design of integrated gas skid and station solutions that support safe, reliable fuel-gas supply for mission-critical data center gas power infrastructure. Fuel gas skids and station solutions include fuel gas conditioning skids, gas flow metering skids, pressure regulation and monitoring skids and gas composition analysis stations. This role delivers safe, reliable, constructible, and cost-effective designs for large projects. Delivering complete and accurate design packages on schedule while ensuring compliance with customer, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements; minimizing design-related rework during fabrication, installation, and commissioning; effectively managing technical risk, scope, cost, schedule, and interfaces; and driving continuous improvements through standardization, design reuse, and enhanced engineering efficiency. Success in this role is demonstrated through delivering complete and accurate work on schedule while ensuring compliance with customer, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements and minimizing rework while effectively managing technical risk, scope, cost, schedule, and interfaces and driving continuous improvements through standardization, design reuse, and enhanced engineering efficiency. You will report directly to our General Manager, and you’ll work out of our Houston, TX location on a Hybrid work schedule. Hybrid Work Schedule Note: For the first 90 days New Hires must be prepared to work 100% onsite Monday – Friday.

  • Ability to read and develop piping and instrumentation diagrams, control narratives, cause-and-effect matrices, I/O lists, instrument data sheets, loop diagrams, wiring drawings, and system architecture documents.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety practices, hazardous or classified-location design principles, and engineering codes and standards.
  • Experience supporting multidisciplinary projects through design, procurement, fabrication, testing, installation, and commissioning.
  • Strong technical writing, problem-solving, stakeholder-management, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and travel to supplier, customer, fabrication, and project sites as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with natural-gas metering and regulation stations, fuel-gas systems for reciprocating engines or gas turbines, data center critical infrastructure, or mission-critical facilities.
  • Familiarity with applicable ISA, IEC, API, AGA, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Experience with control-system software development, simulation, testing, and version control.
  • Experience with modular, prefabricated, or engineered-to-order equipment and supplier integration.
  • Professional Engineer licensure, Engineer-in-Training certification, Certified Automation Professional credential, or equivalent technical certification.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical system components and technical execution for large gas skid or station projects supporting data center applications.
  • Lead and manage electrical engineering projects from conception to completion by managing project budgets, timelines, and resources.
  • Translate customer specifications, process requirements, mechanical designs, equipment data, and site constraints into an integrated controls solution.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and analyze technical requirements.
  • Coordinate hazardous-area requirements, functional-safety considerations, equipment ratings, grounding, power, signal segregation, cybersecurity requirements, and environmental conditions with the responsible engineering and safety authorities.
  • Lead design reviews, technical clarifications, risk assessments, interface reviews, and constructability discussions with customers and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Review supplier proposals, calculations, drawings, software documentation, and technical submittals for compliance with project specifications, quality expectations, schedule, and cost targets.
  • Manage technical scope, schedule commitments, risks, assumptions, changes, and configuration control while maintaining accurate project documentation.
