About The Position

HR Green is seeking a Lead Engineer - Electrical to join their Water/Wastewater Team. This role is ideal for a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) interested in working with a dynamic team on a variety of projects, including municipal water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping, conveyance, and private industry work within the food and beverage manufacturing sectors. The Lead Engineer – Electrical will ensure technical success and project delivery by designing electrical power, lighting, and special systems for these facilities. The position offers a collaborative environment with opportunities for mentorship, technical guidance, client-facing interactions, and involvement in professional organizations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering from an accredited four-year or graduate engineering university in a relevant discipline.
  • Professionally registered (P.E.) in one or more states where HR. Green, Inc. conducts business, or ability to obtain such registration within six months of employment.
  • Ten or more years of design/engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to act as an authorized agent of the company to sign engineering documents.
  • Strong technical verbal and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to read technical literature and engineering plans.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to apply professional knowledge to the solution of both routine and non-routine tasks and engineering activities.
  • Proficient knowledge of computer use and office software (Word, Excel, Bluebeam, etc.).
  • Working knowledge in office automation, CADD, and engineering automation tools.
  • Ability to drive/operate a motor vehicle for company business and maintain a valid driver’s license in the state of residence.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous water/wastewater experience strongly preferred.
  • AutoCAD and Revit preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Uses professional judgment to direct and independently complete assigned engineering designs as an individual contributor.
  • Assists the Project Manager by assigning tasks, scheduling project support team members, answering questions, and monitoring progress.
  • Completes major design tasks with limited supervision, including the design of power, lighting, grounding, standby generation, fire alarm, and other systems for Water/Wastewater facility projects.
  • Checks the accuracy (formal and informal QA/QC) of assigned tasks completed by other engineering and technical staff.
  • Makes major design decisions for power, lighting, grounding, standby generation, fire alarm, and other systems, coordinating the impact on related project efforts.
  • Pro-actively identifies technical, schedule, or financial issues and seeks resolution from the Project Manager and/or the client.
  • Assists the Client in bidding or contractor selection if authorized by the Project Manager.
  • Responds to contractor questions and issues, and prepares and issues project addenda as needed.
  • Participates in the creation of engineering services proposals, including estimating time schedules and costs.
  • Signs and seals engineering documents as an authorized representative of the company.
  • Acts as a technical expert on assigned projects as an individual contributor, and may act as Project Manager on assigned projects.
