About The Position

Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), also referred to as caregivers, provide care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities. They empower the people they support to live as independently as possible by assisting with daily activities, community participation, and personal goals. This position is based in Maple Grove, Minnesota, with a schedule of Monday through Thursday and every other Saturday and Sunday, from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must have an active driver’s license in good standing and a good driving record.
• Must be willing and able to pass a background check.
• Must be willing to complete an Adult CPR and First Aid course; existing certification is beneficial.
• Must demonstrate patience, kindness, and a servant’s heart and hands.
• Must be able to lift, push, and pull at least 50 pounds.
• Must have one year of DSP experience.

• Existing Adult CPR and First Aid training.

Responsibilities

• Help residents with dining, mobility, health, and hygiene activities.
• Accompany individuals while running errands.
• Attend community occasions and activities such as outdoor walks, games, and social events with individuals.
• Assist individuals in achieving their personal goals and desires.
