About The Position

The Senior Software Engineer will lead the delivery and maintenance of mission-critical applications and services supporting city government initiatives. This role focuses on .NET and Microsoft technologies to design, develop, and maintain high-performance applications while providing technical leadership and driving continuous improvement across development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Recent 8 years of Microsoft .NET and Azure development experience.
• 5 years of application development experience.
• 2 years of experience as an application development lead.
• Experience designing and developing scalable .NET applications.
• Experience in code quality, code reviews, and mentoring developers.
• Experience conducting requirements analysis with cross-functional teams.
• Experience leading development teams and ensuring best practices.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues.
• Experience optimizing application performance.
• Experience developing and maintaining integrations with third-party systems.
• Experience implementing continuous improvement in development practices.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in C#, VB.NET , HTML, CSS, JavaScript, ASP.NET , and Blazor.
• Experience with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server (SSMS, SSAS, SSIS, RS).
• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure cloud technologies.
• Strong experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of SDLC models and application development processes.
• Strong grasp of object-oriented design patterns.
• Proficiency with Microsoft development tools including Visual Studio and Visual Studio Code.

Nice To Haves

• Local government experience is preferred but not required.
• Experience with BI reporting tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
