This role involves leading and supervising OSP/ISP, fiber optic, and communication closet engineers and technicians, ensuring coordinated and integrated engineering across all disciplines. The position requires managing Agency and Subcontractor labor, serving as the primary engineering liaison to Government POCs and base stakeholders, and coordinating base access, security requirements, installation schedules, materials, and personnel deployment. The Lead Distribution Systems Engineer will validate engineering deliverables, lead design reviews, planning sessions, and strategic decision-making for DS workstreams, and identify and mitigate engineering risks, design conflicts, and installation challenges. Support will be provided to program leadership with execution planning, reporting, and stakeholder engagement. A key aspect of this role is maintaining expert-level knowledge of AF/SF standards, TIA/EA, UFC, I3A, OSP/ISP, CEL requirements, and fiber technologies. The hiring/working location will be remote but will require approximately 75%-100% travel, specifically supporting daily implementation efforts at Eielson Air Force Base, Fairbanks Alaska for 7+ months, with potential opportunities for movement onto other initiatives upon completion.
