About The Position

Transdev in Quincy, MA is hiring an in-person Lead Dispatcher to join our team. Our Lead Dispatcher ensures the Dispatch team fills all the routes and provides Operators with timely instructions and responses. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of transit supervisory experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
  • DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office and with paratransit scheduling software (and preferably Spare) and the ability to learn new software
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to supervise others
  • Excellent knowledge of The RIDE service area streets, landmarks, and institutions, including all major trip generators and transfer points
  • Excellent knowledge of traffic patterns and their Impact on paratransit operations
  • Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone, and on a two-way communication device
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience as a paratransit driver is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Oversee road service and trip performance measures, i.e. route start time, on-time performance, incidents
  • Respond to customer questions and concerns about no shows, cancellations, and missed trips.
  • Manage vehicle operator emergency situations & escalated calls.
  • Supervise staff on weekends and evenings.
  • Manage department reports and other communication tools.
  • Support the Dispatch Supervisor in training new employees.
  • Other duties as required.
