Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience supporting individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or mental health conditions.
  • CPI training or ability to complete CPI training prior to starting work in the home.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid, unrestricted driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR, First Aid, and other required certifications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, email, and electronic documentation systems.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Knowledge of person-centered supports and trauma-informed care principles.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior leadership, supervisory, or mentoring experience.
  • Experience working in residential services, behavioral health, or IDD programs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, grooming, dressing, meal preparation, housekeeping, laundry, and medication support.
  • Promote independence, self-determination, and personal choice while supporting individuals in achieving their goals.
  • Provide supervision, coaching, mentoring, and training to Direct Support Professionals.
  • Support individuals in developing social skills, building relationships, and participating in community activities.
  • Implement individualized service plans, behavioral support plans, and skill-development programs.
  • Monitor and document individuals' physical, emotional, and behavioral well-being.
  • Respond appropriately to crisis situations using approved intervention techniques and agency procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, incidents, medication records, and consumer progress.
  • Support and oversee medication administration practices in accordance with agency policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure a safe, therapeutic, and home-like environment that promotes dignity, inclusion, and quality of life.
  • Assist with safety inspections, emergency drills, transportation activities, and facility maintenance concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Residential Manager to ensure compliance with licensing requirements, organizational policies, and quality standards.
